October 11th was a busy day, moving into a busy night. I read, drank vats of coffee, and then had a spooky sleepover party with my darling family. What a celebration.
We went for a spooky walk by candlelight. We made hideous caramel apples. We had riveting conversations, and noted that one cannot possibly get the same sense of shock out of John Carpenter’s Halloween on a smart TV – the definition makes it look like a very crisp, bright home movie (with lots of boobs). Michael Myers is still my favorite creep.
Today, October 12th, was much more mundane, but celebratory nonetheless. I stopped off at Jo Ann fabrics for a peek at some Halloween junk, and found that Simplicity patterns were a buck a piece. I snatched up some costume ideas and then I actually finished more work.
Keeping it short yet again, I celebrate craftiness, togetherness and accomplishment today. These often go hand-in-hand, and are always rewarding.
